PRIVACY ACTS

We adhere to the relevant privacy laws as is applicable in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and South Africa (SA).

UAE: Dubai Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020

To ensure Value In Research is compliant to the Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020, we have put the following in place:

    1. Data Protection Principles have been put in place regarding electronic storage of client information and personal data.
    2. Lawful Bases for Processing:  Consent can be freely given and demonstrated by a clear affirmative act showing an unambiguous indication of consent.
    3. Data Subject Rights: Data subjects are provided certain rights in relation to their personal data and data controllers also are required to provide data subjects with information relating to processing and an individual’s rights with respect to their data.
    4. A Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) has been appointed to monitor and advise on compliance with the New DP Law where a controller or processor engages in “high risk processing activities” on a systematic or regular basis, the definition of which includes criteria that are similar, but not identical to, the criteria for appointment of a DPO under the GDPR.

 

SA POPI ACT

To ensure Value In Research is POPI Act complaint, we have put the following in place to keep your information safe:

    1. All our employees, contractors and management have read and understand the POPI Act.
    2. If you experience any data breaches please report it to our Information Officer.
    3. We confirm that none of your personal information will be transferred from Value In Research to other countries.
    4. We will only share personal information when our clients have lawfully given us permission to do so.

    • The processing is necessary to carry out actions for the conclusion or performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party.
    • The processing complies with an obligation imposed by law on the business.

    • The processing is necessary for pursuing the legitimate interests of the business or of a third party to whom the information is supplied.

Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that this website and its owners participate on are custom to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policies held with each social media platform, respectively. Users are advised to use social media platforms wisely and communicate / engage upon them with care and caution in regard to their own privacy and personal details. This website nor its owners will ever ask for personal or sensitive information through social media platforms and encourage users wishing to discuss sensitive details to contact them through primary communication channels such as by telephone, email and WhatsApp. This website may use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question. Users are advised before using such social sharing buttons that they do so at their own discretion and note that the social media platform may track and save your request to share a web page respectively through your social media platform account.
